Ascot Racecourse Reopens

ECO-Logic has supplied ‘Non Touch’ and ‘One Touch’ electronic sensor controls for all the toilets in the new Ascot Grandstand, including the Royal Box, which is due to open in time for the Queen’s visit to the Royal Ascot Meeting in June.

ECO-Logic beat off stiff competition to win this prestigious contract due to its innovative Trans Sense controls which sense ‘through-the-wall’ and link to the Building Management System being used throughout the development.

The company previously supplied state-of-the-art WC flush technology to the Royal Ascot Racing Club and on-course Storage Tank Water Monitoring Systems to reduce water wastage and the risk of Legionella.

Ascot Racecourse reopened on Saturday 27 May after a £200 million development. An invited crowd of 11,000, including many local residents, were present to see the new-look course first-hand.

BBC Racing Presenter Rishi Persad said that, ”The new Ascot Grandstand has set the benchmark for stadia around the world”, and former champion jockey Willie Carson proclaimed it to be, “One of the greatest Racecourses in the whole world, everything about the place is marvellous.”

Officials insist that everything will be pretty much spot on for the return home of Royal Ascot on 20 June, after one year away at York.

“Very hard work”, was how Chief Executive Douglas Erskine-Crum reflected on the last twenty months. “We set ourselves ambitious targets, and I’m delighted that they look to have been achieved.
